2017 Election

Pursuant to the Georgia Election Code O.C.G.A. Section 21-2-131 (a)(1)(A), notice is hereby given that a general election for Mayor and Posts 1,2,3,4 of the Town of Bishop City Council will be conducted on Tuesday, November 7 2017 from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Bishop Community Center located at  4951 Macon Highway.

Candidates desiring to qualify for said election can qualify at Bishop Town Hall, 5000 Macon Highway, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on August 21, 23, and 24.  Qualifying fee is $5.  Please call 706-769-0076 for information on qualifying, and 706-769-3958 for information on voting, registering to vote, and the election.

Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and a resident of the town for at least one year prior to the election and must continue to reside in the town during his or her period of service.  A candidate must be a qualified voter of the town of Bishop and must continue to be registered and qualified to vote in municipal elections of the town.  A candidate must be current on all taxes and meet any other requirements of Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the O.C.G.A., the “Georgia Election Code.”
