Business & Industry

Business licenses (aka Occupational Taxes) are good January 1 -December 31 and require annual renewal.    

• Please see the attached package for information needed in order to renew/apply for a license.  

• All pages of the application are required by and reported to the State of Georgia.

• If the business is new to Bishop, a representative from the business must attend a council meeting to discuss the business for which an application is being submitted. All new licenses must be approved by the Town Council before the license is granted.

• Please fill out all paperwork whether you are applying for a new license or renewal.  

• The fee for a business license is a flat rate of $20 payable in person by cash or check or online by contacting clerk@townofbishop.org.

• The Town Clerk is a notary public and will happily notarize all documents for free by appointment. The signature must be performed in front of the notary.  Please do not bring in already signed documents.
